Not only is the second issue of Satellite out, but there will also be two launch events, in Brooklyn and Montreal — the former because that’s where the magazine is made (along with Toronto), and the latter because it forms the topic of the second issue. Satellite describes itself as “a biannual magazine focusing on cities, culture, and politics. Each issue features an in-depth look at a single city, alongside interviews, art, fiction, and nonfiction.”

Here’s what you’ll find inside the second issue:

Our new issue, now in stores, offers a broad overview of Montreal’s evolution over the last few decades and a window into its arts and design communities. Other content includes an interview with Noam Chomsky about Iran; essays about Mumbai, Oslo, and New York; art from Iceland and Atlanta; and more.

The Brooklyn launch is set for July 19 at 739 Franklin Bar, while the Montreal launch will happen on August 16 at Casa del Popolo (more details here). You can order the issue online by way of a subscription ($20).
