I know it’s been a long time coming, but I’m very happy to finally announce that reviews are once again going to start appearing on the site on a regular basis — I just kicked it off with a look at what is probably my favorite iPad magazine at the moment, SPIN Play.
One thing you’ll notice is that I’ve introduced a template to my reviews — in the form of a series of questions — and for this I need to thank Andrew Losowsky for letting me “steal” his idea. Before Andrew was sucked into his current role as book editor at The Huffington Post — where he’s been doing a terrific job, I might add — he’d been planning on launching a site that would cover the digital side of magazine publishing, a site to which I was going to be a contributor. One of his ideas was to have a proper template for the reviews, and although my system is a bit different, it’s firmly built on some of the categories he would have used.
So there you have it, reviews are back, and you can thank Andrew for that.
