I know it’s a lazy blog thing to do, but I think I need to start doing regular round-ups of news bits that I tweet about or just don’t have time to prepare an entire post for — and besides, everyone loves quick rounds-ups!

• What happens when the UK edition of The Apprentice dives into the magazing world? MagCulture reports.
• The “Walrus ePub Demo #3″ shows off what can be accomplished with ePub3 (which supports HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript). Now if only Apple could eliminite the decidedly kitsch “book” interface they use in iBooks.
• Fellow magaziner Tim Moore — of Letter to Jane — shares yet more thoughts on what magazine makers can expect from iOS 5 and Newsstand.
• It’s been a long time since Wired has had a print edition in Japan, but it’s back (and here’s a link to buy it on Amazon Japan, which ships internationally).
• All is not well in Adobe Digital Publishing Suite land.
• Craig Mod unleashes a fantastic new essay on digital publishing. As a follow-up, you might want to look into publishing your own book through Leanpub.
• An iPad app companion to McSweeney’s new food magazine, Lucky Peach, is in the works.
• Pushpin Zines, a new site (and webstore) about, well, zines.
