I tweeted it when it was released, but now I have the print edition in my hands, and so it’s a good time to remind everyone that Michael Bojkowski‘s third edition of his excellent self-published magazine Lineread came out recently, the “Decadism” issue. Michael is the designer behind the recently re-launched Grafik, but here is where you get to experience his design sense unfiltered.

This is actually the first print magazine from MagCloud I receive, and I must say I’m rather impressed. I’m not sure what the base price is these days (per page) to sell something through the service, but it sounds like a good option for indie creators — although you certainly can’t compete with mainstream fare, it looks like you can sell for $10-15 (Michael is selling at a dirt cheap $7.50), which tends to be acceptable in the indie mag scene. This is the second MagCloud release I mention today (don’t forget the new issue of Scroll), which I think is a sign that more creators are using this route to produce interesting magazines.

As mentioned, you can buy Lineread No. 3 through MagCloud for $7.50, which includes the PDF version, or just the PDF separately for $1 (the PDFs for the previous 2 issues are free downloads).
