and have a fun time together.

I’m the first to admit that The Magaziner hasn’t been getting as much love and attention as I’d like (although I’ve kept sharing news items through the Twitter feed) over the past few weeks, as other work has gotten in the way. But throughout this I continue to follow all new development in the world [...]

I don’t think I’ve yet covered publisher Hamish Hamilton’s Five Dials ezine on this site, and so let me point out that the latest issue, No. 19, is now available for download. Edited by Craig Taylor, each issue is released as a PDF, and as they suggest, “is best downloaded, printed out and enjoyed (we [...]

I already tweeted it, and it’s been covered all over the magosphere, but I felt like I should post it here too. If you’ll allow me to put on my hat as executive director of the PechaKucha organization for a moment, I’d like to make a mention here of a big project we’ve been working on, the Global PechaKucha Day – Inspire Japan fundraiser, the core of which will happen this Saturday (April 16), with cities all [...]

If you’re a gaming fan, than you’re more than likely familiar with the Area 5 crew, who were behind the great 1UP Show and CO-OP online video shows about games. They are providing most of the content for a new videogame magazine on iPad that has just launched, Atomix. They will soon offer a subscription option, [...]

Another new iPad magazine release this week, this time it’s Odd, a fashion magazine from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute — it sells for $4 on the iTunes App Store. I don’t have a copy, but this video trailer they’ve put together looks quite nice:

The Taiwanese (but English language) experimental arts magazine White Fungus is now available as an iPad/iPhone app. I haven’t had a chance to see how it reads, but it was produced by Magazine Cloner (also known as Pocket Mags), a service that offers to digitize print magazines turning them into apps, so I suspect it [...]

The first issue of C A R S O N magazine — read more about it here and here — is at the printers, says editor-in-chief Alex Storch, and “it looks sooooo good!” It will be mailing out shortly, and I imagine we can expect to see it on newsstands as well. Below, a look at [...]

I tweeted this yesterday — after seeing it announced on MagCulture — but I think it’s important to properly cover here the fact that Bonnier has released Mag+ in the wild as an InDesign plug-in. Mag+ is the name the publisher has been using to describe its digital publishing system — which they’ve been using [...]

I have a dirty little secret to share: I subscribed to Newsweek on iPad. Why is this something I’d be slightly embarrassed about? Well, in the past, I’ve been quite upfront about the fact that I think Newsweek‘s iPad offering is not much more than a glorified PDF reader (and the image quality is still [...]
